Petanque is played individually or in teams of 2-3 people. The aim is to throw as many of your own or your team's balls as possible as close as possible to the small wooden target ball, the "snad". Each ball that a team gets closer to the snad than the best-ranked balls of its competitors is worth one point. Tactics are an essential part of playing petanque. A competitor's ball may attempt to ricochet away from the snad. Balls are thrown alternately, but the player or team in the lead must always save their balls, the others have the throwing turn. This gives the leader a significant advantage for the final rounds. The game is packaged in a durable nylon bag. Contents: 6 metal balls (3 pairs) and a small wooden ball. Ball 73mm in diameter, 720g, wooden small ball 29mm in diameter.
