Description

Article no.: Fozzy-jerk

The Fozzy lure is designed and created by lure builder FåzzBaits in Ostrobothnia, Finland. Here and now you are given the unique opportunity to complete your own Fozzy, giving it the final characteristics that best suit your fishing. The body is sawn out of high-quality carpentered birch plank in FåzzBaits workshop in Larsmo. With a pre-cut and milled body, with pre-drilled holes for screw eyes and weighting holes, you complete the bait with simple means and quickly get to the moment where you give the wood a life of its own, a unique gait and as I usually say it; “a soul”. 1. Fold your Fozzy in a tub of water. Remember to have all the final “equipment” on when weighting: screw eyes, spring rings, hooks and bait locks (and, or paws). Fill the weighting holes with the desired amount of lead, until you reach the sink rate you want on your bait. Fill the holes temporarily with modeling clay or Sinitarra, check the sink rate and go out and test swim if you want! Write down the amount of lead you want in each weighting hole. 2. Unscrew the loops, remove the lead, wipe the body and leave it to dry for a couple of days. 3. When the wood is dry: insert the weights and fill the holes. Some form of fiberglass filler works well. Glue the screw eyes with 2-component epoxy glue. Sand down any excess filler, as well as any unevenness in the body, until you have achieved the desired smoothness. 4. Wipe the bait thoroughly with a dry cloth. Prime the bait 2-3 times. 5. Glitter/paint your Fozzy - Let your imagination run wild! 6. Glue on eyes and surface paint the lure 2-3 rounds. I use Wolfcreeck's C&W varnish for all my lures. When using this super durable varnish, it is important to remember to keep the bait rotating during drying, so that the varnish does not start to run! Also keep in mind the health aspect when working with epoxy.
